If you are writing an essay on how you, your spouse, or any other close relationship works it is important to have a theme.Themes are easy to come up with and they will vary depending on the relationship. For example, if you are writing about a romantic relationship such as yours or your spouse's, you will most likely be looking at a romantic theme. You can also start a theme in the first paragraph by pointing out some events that either the couple has done or did not do that may have had a significant impact on the relationship.Many themes will be based around something that happened, for example, 'A week before Valentine's Day he announced his love for me.' Then, you could follow up with, 'It's been two weeks since then. On Valentine's Day, he proposed to me.'Other themes will be based around something th at happened in the past, for example, 'Every Friday when the kids were small, I promised them to be at church for a date. That night, they got all angry and screamed at me.Once you know what you want to say about your relationship, you can begin to write about the couple's personality. Your relationship theme can be based on some of the following personality types: Romantic, Helpful, Friend, Athlete, Leadership, and Sportsman.While you might be able to already think of traits that you see your relationship sharing, it is always best to write about how these personality types influence each other. For example, there is a friendship relationship between a sports enthusiast and a person who love the beach. You may want to write about how the sports enthusiast inspires the beach lover to take an interest in the sport and excel at it.Some people like to use poetry or quotes to make their point. They will then write a poem that puts down a few different quotes. When you put these quotes t ogether, you are able to come up with a theme that not only talks about your relationship but about the relationship in general.When you are preparing for a relationship theme, you should prepare yourself for different words. Words like spouse, sibling, friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, and so on will come up and you may need to use more than one word in one sentence to give the theme a bit of substance.
